How do I start my career with Select Medical Staffing?
You must have a current nursing license and at least one year of acute care experience within the last two years to be a Select Medical Staffing nurse. Additionally, you will need to complete all of the application and testing requirements of Select Medical Staffing.
What items do I need to bring on my assignment?
Items you will need to carry with you to each assignment include:

When your application is completed, a Select Medical Staffing recruiter will contact you. They will review your traveling preferences and clinical qualifications and will match you with positions suitable for you. Your profile will then be submitted to only the facilities you choose. Your recruiter will follow up on the submitted profile in a timely matter to ensure a prompt answer from the health care facility.
Upon position acceptance, Select Medical Staffing will arrange all travel and living accommodations while on assignment. Your recruiter will be available throughout the placement process and your assignment.
How long is the average travel assignment for Select Medical Staffing?
Travel assignments are typically 13 weeks long. Once your assignment is completed, you may be asked to extend your assignment if you wish, or you may request a recruiter to look for other positions for you.
Can I request to work in a specific area of a hospital?
Yes! We have positions available in all specialty areas. Usually we can match your request in a very timely manner. You may also be given the opportunity to float to different areas of the hospital. If we do not have a position in your specialty, your recruiter will immediately put forth their time and effort to find you the position you are looking for.
What if you do not have a need listed in the city in which I would like to work?
If Select Medical Staffing does not list a position in your desired city, please let your recruiter know. Your recruiter will help find you a position where you wish to work, or they will help you decide which options are best for your case.
Can I provide my own housing during an assignment?
You may provide your own housing during an assignment and may be entitled to a housing allowance. Please discuss your housing options with your recruiter for your desired assignment.
